Since going natural (meaning no more perm/relaxers/hair dyes/and limited heat), I have used the holistic approach of ayurvedic hair practices. Without it I would of not have accomplish, transitioning to a natural state with such ease. Thanks to the internet, I have been able to research and adapt an ayurvedic holistic approach for my natural, curly hair.

My Hair Journey using the ayurvedic holistic approach

First, I had to undo my previous haircare routine. Next, I had to understand the practice and learn new techniques and lastly, mentally change my mindset over my natural curly hair.

From understanding its history (roots) to getting to know its ingredients and techniques, it all has been beneficial. Thus far it has been the root to my success throughout my hair growth journey.

Furthermore, I would like to share with you the basic benefits of the ayurvedic holistic approach for your natural hair journey. Altogether, Ayurvedic hair care is a holistic approach to maintaining healthy hair using natural ingredients and traditional techniques.

Some of the benefits of ayurvedic holistic approach for hair care

  1. Improved scalp health:
    • Ayurvedic hair care emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy scalp, which is essential for healthy hair growth. Also, Ayurvedic remedies include scalp massages, herbal hair oils, and hair masks. They all can help nourish the scalp and prevent issues like dandruff, itching, and inflammation.
    • To include, I have noticed a tremendous difference in my scalp. What I Love most is the ease to continue the care of my hair. Before, I had issues with keeping up with hair care in specific areas such as my scalp. Because everything was just so time consuming, and never not any positive long-lasting results.
    • Basically, I never took the time to look at ingredients in depth of the products I bought and used on my hair. Including paying close attention to my response to each of the product I would use in my hair. As a matter of fact, it was definitely difficult to keep up with any type of routine.
  1. Nourished hair
    • Ayurvedic hair care uses natural ingredients like herbs, oils, and powders. As a result, they are rich in nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. To include, these ingredients can help nourish and strengthen hair from the inside out. Lastly, leaving it shiny, strong, and healthy.
    • My favorite part is that all ingredients are NATURAL, no harsh chemicals to worry about! Basically, I can use my ingredients already found in my pantry. Also, I love the chemistry aspect of using these ingredients. Lastly, you can play around with its concentration and select those ingredients that work for your hair the best.
  1. Reduced hair fall:
    • Note, that Ayurvedic hair care focuses on preventing hair fall by addressing the root cause of the problem. Ayurvedic remedies can help strengthen hair follicles, improve blood circulation to the scalp, and prevent hair fall.
    • Most certainly, I have seen not only hair growth but reduced hair fall. Before, my hair used to be so brittle, that I would get at least 4x more the amount of hair fall. And it just wouldn’t grow. The breakage was real! (See my pictures above for reference). I’m not lying, the rollercoaster was real with this SISTA.
Ever since starting the Natural Ayurvedic Holistic Approach journey, I have seen a reduction in hair fall.
  1. Improved hair texture
    • Ayurvedic hair care can help improve the texture of hair by making it softer, smoother, and more manageable. Ayurvedic remedies like hair oils, teas and hair masks can help moisturize and hydrate hair, reducing frizz and making hair more manageable.

Last but not least

As you can imagine, Ayurvedic hair care is a safe and natural way to maintain healthy hair. All without the use of harsh chemicals or synthetic ingredients. Ayurvedic remedies are made using natural ingredients like herbs, oils, and powders. Which makes them safe and gentle for all hair types.

You can do a combination of ingredients that fit best your hair purpose, you can always add or subtract to your DIYs hair teas/oils/masks for the right combination and strength.

If you are looking to incorporate such techniques and lifestyle, I suggest first on doing your research. Next, know that it takes time to adapt to anything new. Start your journey with baby steps, and you too will see the positive results.
